By creating sustainable models in Hawaii, we’re fueling the global transformation from fossil fuels to renewable solutions.
Since 2007, we’ve cleared the path to clean energy by turning good intentions into a powerful reality.
Purpose of Activity
The Blue Planet Foundation works to advance policies that protect our planet, boost it’s economies and support the prosperity of individual communities while further advancing clean energy and climate goals.
In June of 2015, the State of Hawaii passed the first “100% Renewable Energy Act” in the United States.
This reqires 100% of the state’s electricity to be generated from renewable energy resources by 2045.
To acheive this long term vision, the Blue Planet Foundation is responsible for significant energy transformations at both the policy and community levels.
Activities
The Blue Planet Foundation is working to drive Hawaii’s transition to 100% renewable energy.
Members advocate in state legislature and public utility commissions and work with world-renowned experts to educate the community.
Additionally, they train next-generation leaders in the fields of clean energy and climate change research through various educational programs.
